EU funding for developing green spaces
SLOVENIA, October 26 - The Green areas of Šmarje pri Jelšah project covers the comprehensive development of publicly accessible green areas around Jelšingrad Mansion in Šmarje pri Jelšah. The project area covers approximately 16 hectares within the urban settlement and includes a local park, a sports and recreation area, and green spaces of natural and cultural value. The project includes plans for the development of paved and green areas, built structures, and the installation of urban furniture and lighting. The design provides for the comprehensive development of the existing green spaces, linking them through a coherent design and concept. The €1,339,374.39 project will receive €935,000.00 from the European Regional Development Fund. The Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning is responsible for project implementation, while the beneficiary of the funding is the Municipality of Šmarje pri Jelšah.
Greening the centre of Cerklje na Gorenjskem
The investment aims to green the centre of Cerklje na Gorenjskem, covering the green areas in front of Davorin Jenko Primary School to the north, the memorial park and garden at Hribar Villa, the green areas around the municipal building, the church and the parish house, and the area where a new cemetery will be established to the southeast. A total of 1.59 hectares of land in the town centre will be redeveloped, including 0.79 hectares of green infrastructure. The total value of the project is €2,499,089.62, of which €788,047.45 will come from the European Regional Development Fund. The Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning is responsible for project implementation, while the beneficiary of the funding is the Municipality of Cerklje na Gorenjskem.
Both projects are implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027.
